Our Story.
There’s nothing we love more than seeing our ballroom dance students inspired by opportunities to travel, watch, and compete at FADS Regional or National dance competitions. Owning that perfect gown or costume is an investment in furthering your dance experience. But in the past, when it came time to replace that costume, there was no effective way to offer your current dress for sale to others in the FADS family. But there is, now.
Our Vision.
We know that from time to time, students like to refresh their look before taking the next step on their dance journey – whether it’s for a different style of dress, a new type of dance – or for any reason. If your gently-used ballroom costume still has lots of twirls left in it, wouldn’t it be great to have an easy way to share it with other FADS students, studios and Instructors? And a safe and secure way of selling it? We thought so, too.

Fred Astaire Dance Studios
Our company began when Mr. Fred Astaire co-founded a chain of dance studios under his name, to make sure that his dance techniques could be preserved and passed onto the public… and on March 7th, 1947, the first Fred Astaire Dance Studio opened, at 487 Park Avenue in New York City. Since then, our network of worldwide dance studios has produced a wealth of amateur and professional dancers, who are the living embodiment of Fred Astaire’s style and grace. And since 1947, we have had the honor & privilege of improving the lives of our students, staff and everyone who is associated with our company, through the joy of lifelong dancing!
